BENGALURU: The Yellow Line of Namma Metro has opened, and now it’s the turn of the Hebbal flyover additional loop which is waiting for its inauguration. Citizens are now questioning if the Hebbal flyover will be open to traffic by the end of August.
The opening date for the inauguration has not been fixed yet, though it was expected to be opened on August 15. But, given the pending work, there is a possibility it might open by the end of this month or early next month.
The Hebbal flyover will provide some relief from traffic congestion. Bengaluru residents have been waiting for four years for the Yellow Metro Line to open, and now it’s open to traffic. However, the Hebbal flyover on Airport Road is still experiencing heavy traffic congestion.
To solve this traffic congestion problem, a loop ramp has been built on the flyover, and its construction is complete. The question is, will the newly built loop ramp be opened to public vehicle traffic before August 15 or the end of the month? The construction is complete, but it is unclear when it will be opened to traffic.
Bengaluru’s Airport Road, particularly the Hebbal flyover, is still experiencing heavy traffic congestion. This loop construction is expected to reduce traffic congestion and will be very helpful for those coming from KR Pura towards Mehkri Circle.
Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, who inspected the loop recently, is expected to announce the opening date. The loop will allow smooth traffic movement towards Mehkri Circle, Windsor Manor and Vidhana Soudha.
