In Ballari jail, Darshan quizzed by I-T officials over cash stash found at Bengaluru home

BALLARI: Jailed actor Darshan was quizzed by Income Tax officials for several hours at the Ballari central prison on Thursday. The questioning is expected to go on till evening and the IT officials may question Darshan on Friday also.

The Income Tax officials are questioning Darshan regarding the huge amount of cash found at his Bengaluru residence. It is suspected that the money was used to destroy evidence in the Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan’s auditor M S Rao also arrived at the Ballari jail on Thursday.

The Income Tax officials arrived in two vehicles.

The I-T officials have secured a court nod to quiz Darshan for two days on September 26 and 27. The I-T officials tracking the source of the huge funds that was found at the actor’s house after his arrest in the Renukaswamy murder case.

The actor was questioned by a team of five I-T officials in the jail superintendent’s chamber and the entire proceedings was videographed. Darshan’s auditor also presented some documents to the officials. They also questioned the actor about his close circle.

The questioning went on till evening and is likely to continue on Friday too.
