Couples riding up to Chennarayabetta ignoring the leopard scare.

CHIKKABALLAPUR: Unmindful of the leopard scare, and ignoring warnings against entering a restricted zone, young couples have been going to the Chennarayabetta in the Nandi state forest area to visit a waterfall there.

Couples were riding up the hill to visist a waterfall.

Chennarayabetta is in Doddaballapur taluk in Bengaluru Rural district. Just at the foot of the hills, leopard pug marks have been found in farm lands and some livestock have been attacked in recent days in Channapura village.

The Nandi state forest is a restricted area.

With the weekend setting in, young couples on motorcycles were spotted going up the hills since Saturday morning. The Forest Department has put up a warning sign against trespassing into the Nandi State Forest, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped people from going there.

Some of the couples returned after being cautioned by locals.
