BENGALURU: “Many television channels have shut down in recent times and running a channel for 13 years isn’t an easy task. Public TV has earned people’s trust, which has helped the channel stay strong”, said Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

Speaking as a guest at the 13th anniversary programme of Public TV, and praising the channel head H R Ranganath, Shivakumar was surprised that Public TV has 500 employees. “A leader is very important for an army. If a leader has courage, then others do not need to be afraid. Ranganath is like a wrestler who has sacrificed his own interests for the channel’s growth”, the Deputy CM pointed out.

“No matter how much personal difficulties he is in, he is leading the organization by sacrificing his pain for the staff”, Shivakumar said while acknowledging Ranganath’s efforts in addressing social issues and his commitment to unbiased reporting.

“Power is not permanent. Power comes at any time and it is temporary, but people’s love is permanent. The channel has entered its 13th year today because of the love showered by the people”, the Deputy CM said and added that he wished the channel and the love should continue in the future.

Further, he said, “Ranganath has known me for many years. Many people eagerly wait for Ranganath’s 9 pm ‘Big Bulletin’ programme. Many times, he has been advising us and warning us. If there is a clear goal and effort, success will definitely come. Earlier, when I came for the 10th anniversary, I was KPCC president. Now I am the Deputy CM. But today, I have come to the Public TV programme on behalf of the government”.

Shivakumar expressed his admiration for Ranganath’s dedication and Public TV’s commitment to social justice. Public TV head H R Ranganath, Lahari Music’s Manohar Naidu and producer Rockline Venkatesh were present on the occasion.
