MYSURU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader S A Ramadass, who has been denied the ticket from Krishnaraja constituency, said he feels like he was kicked out of his maternal house. The BJP released its third list of 10 candidates on Monday evening and picked T S Srivatsa as its candidate from that seat.
Ramadass expressed his displeasure over party decision and said, “I feel like I was kicked out from my mother’s house, where I was been for 30 years”, alluding that he considered the BJP as his mother’s house.
After the announcement of ticket, BJP candidate from Krishnaraja constituency Srivatsa and Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha went to meet Ramadass at his residence, but the outgoing MLA sent them back saying that he was not interested to talk to anyone.
“They sent me out of house, where I had been for 30 years. I will let you know on Tuesday evening whether I want to stay in that house or not. I will not meet anyone at this moment”, Ramadass said, while refusing to meet Srivatsa and Pratap Simha who had come to his house. They then walked out from the house without meeting him.
Speaking to media persons, Pratap Singh said, “We had come home to seek Ramadass’ blessings. He is hurt over not getting the ticket. It is natural for him to be upset as he was MLA for 30 years and now he won’t be representing the constituency. He informed us over phone that he will meet us tomorrow and added that the party has always been with him. He considered the party as his mother and said that he will not leave his mother for any reason”.
