BENGALURU: A massive fire broke out at a lubricant manufacturing unit at Heelalige in Anekal taluk on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday morning. However, there was no casualty as no workers were present, but the damage is estimated to run in several lakhs.
The fire broke out at Visal Tribotech Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer and supplier of automotive and agricultural lubricants, where a large quantity of oil had been stored in barrels. The fire quickly spread across the factory and 10 fire tenders battled the blaze about five hours.
The fire broke out around 7 am and it is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. About 40 people are employed in the unit, but being a Sunday, none of them were present. The Surya City police have registered a case.
