Hubballi, three other airports in Karnataka get bomb threat email, turns out to be hoax

HUBBALLI: Four airports in the state, including the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, Mangaluru International Airport and the airports in Hubballi and Belagavi were among those across the country which received bomb threats via email on Monday. Thorough searches revealed the threat to be a hoax.

 

The threat email was sent from the ID Roadkill.kyo and threatened that blasts will be carried out at the airports. After the threat turned out to be a hoax, the police are now investigating the origin of the email while increasing security.

Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N Shashikumar said the threat was taken seriously and security has been increased at the Hubballi airport. “We are coordinating withe different agencies. The Hubballi airport comes under the jurisdiction of the commissionerate and if the airport authorities lodge a complaint, we will take up investigation”.
