Hubballi police step checking of vehicles, seize over 80 two-wheelers

The Hubballi traffic police have stepped checking of vehicles.

HUBBALLI: In the wake of the Mangaluru cooker blast, the Hubballi police have increased checking of vehicles, especially those who no registration number plates or proper documentation, vehicles with number plates of other states, and even autorickshaws.

Autorickshaws carrying goods are also being checked.

The police, including senior officers, have fanned out at major intersections and are carrying out thorough checks of vehicles and autorickshaws carrying goods.

Over 80 two-wheelers without number plates were seized.

On Sunday evening, a team of police personnel, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Gopal Byakod, have seized over 80 vehicles at Keshwapur, Old Hubballi, North, South and Upanagara traffic police limits.

In Kushtagi of Uttara Kannada district too, the police have begun clamping down on two-wheelers without registration plates and proper documents. Several vehicles were also seized.
