HUBBALLI: A man who attempted to rape a minor girl and threatened to kill her like Neha Hiremath after she opposed him, has been arrested by the Kasaba police. He was arrested after a complaint was registered recently and was sent to judicial custody.
The accused Abbas befriended the minor girl who is studying in school, and had taken her to a park a few times. On June 22, 2024, Abbas took the girl, saying that he would drop her home, but he took her to the Revadihal Bridge and attempted to rape her. The girl managed to escape from his clutches and informed her parents about the incident.
After this, Abbas was angry and went to the girl’s house on August 18 and quarreled with her. He also threatened to kill her like Neha Hiremath if she refused his proposal. A case was registered against Abbas under BNS Sections 363, 376, 511, and the POCSO Act.
