Hotel manager, staff arrested for insulting Kannadigas by displaying derogatory message on signboard

BENGALURU: Cases of insulting Kannadigas in Bengaluru are increasing day by day. In the latest such incident, a hotel near the Nexus Mall in Koramangala displayed a digital display board with a derogatory message against Kannadigas.

The board read ‘Kannadigas are M******** and was captured on video by a local resident, which was then shared on social media, prompting widespread anger.

How to file a complaint with RERA?Upon investigation, the police visited the GS Suites hotel, seized the digital board and took five people, including the hotel manager and staff. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sarah Fatima stated that a case has been registered under Section 153 and an investigation is under way.

The hotel owner, who is currently in Kerala, claimed that some mischievous individuals might have hacked into the system and posted the message. However, the police are investigating the matter and gathering more information about the incident. The incident has sparked concerns about the increasing number of cases of Kannadigas being insulted in Bengaluru.
