BENGALURU: A hotel in Hosur near Bengaluru, has come up with an innovative offer to tackle the rising commercial LPG cylinder prices caused by the global energy crisis due to the Middle East war.

The ‘Erode Ammayi Mess’ is offering free biryani for a month to customers who provide an LPG cylinder. The hotel has put up a poster advertising the offer, which has gone viral on social media. The hotel owner has devised this unique plan to cope with the challenges posed by the rising LPG prices and shortage, which have become a major concern for the hospitality industry.

Krithi, the owner of the Erode Ammayi Mess, said, “We have introduced an offer of one free biryani per day for one month for anyone supplying us one commercial LPG cylinder. We have 30 people working for us and we cannot close down the hotel. There are a lot of companies around and we cannot deny food to our customers. Due to the cylinder shortage, we have stopped breakfast on weekdays. We are also using wood fire, but some food items will take time to prepare”.

She further said that some people had come forward to provide domestic LPG cylinders, but they had refused. “We can use only commercial cylinders. If someone can provide us two cylinders we will give them two biryanis every day for 30 days. Many people have made inquiries about the free biryani scheme, but nobody has come forward to provide us a cylinder so far”, she added.

The poster reads, “Give us one cylinder, eat free biryani for a month”. The offer aims to attract customers and help the hotel manage its operational costs. The creative approach has garnered attention and praise from people on social media.
