BENGALURU: Cooperation Minister K N Rajanna met Home Minister G Parameshwara at the latter’s residence in Sadashivanagar on Tuesday to discuss the honeytrap case. Rajanna requested a high-level investigation into the case.
Parameshwara acknowledged the appeal and stated that he would discuss the matter with the Chief Minister and decide on the next course of action.
After receiving the appeal, Parameshwara said that Rajanna has submitted a request and added that he will discuss with the Chief Minister and discuss how to take forward the investigation.
The Home minister further said, “I cannot accept the complaint in this matter. A complaint will have to be filed at the police station itself. The matter will be discussed with legal experts, and a decision will be made based on their advice. The issue is now in the Assembly’s hands, and they are waiting until the complaint is filed”.
“We cannot disclose what elements are in the letter submitted. A request has been made as announced in the Assembly and I have accepted the request. We will think about taking further steps”, the Home minister added.
Rajanna explained that he took this step to prevent such incidents from recurring in public life. He also mentioned that he had raised the issue in the Assembly, as reported in the media. Parameshwara had assured that an investigation would be conducted if a complaint is filed, he said.
Rajanna said, “I have taken this action with the aim of ensuring that such bad behaviour does not continue in public life. There was news in the media that there are influential ministers from Tumakuru There are only two ministers from Tumkur. For this reason, I had proposed it in the House. The Home Minister had promised to investigate if a complaint is filed. Therefore, I have filed a petition today,” he said.
