Home-alone woman murdered in Bengaluru, killers escape with jewellery worth lakhs

BENGALURU: A home-alone woman was murdered and gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees was stolen from her house on Dargah Road in Cottonpet on Monday.

The victim, identified as Latha (40), was alone at home when the murder took place. Her husband is a wholesale textile trader, and their daughter is a software engineer, while their son was at school.

The killer is believed to have escaped with gold jewellery worth lakhs of rupees. The murder came to light when Latha’s husband Prakash returned home in the afternoon.

The family had been purchasing gold ornaments in phases for their daughter’s wedding. The suspect is believed to have strangled Latha to death. The Cottonpet police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
