History sheeter stabs waterman to death for trivial reason

HASSAN: A history sheeter stabbed a waterman to death with a knife at Cheekanahalli village in the district on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Ganesh (27), who was a waterman at Cheekanahalli village. He was standing near the auto stand last night.

Meanwhile, a history-sheeter named Madhu, who was drunk, came to the auto stand and started quarreling with Ganesh. The fight escalated, and Madhu stabbed Ganesh with a knife. Ganesh died on the spot due to severe bleeding.

Madhu, who was living in Bengaluru, had come to the village for the Gouri-Ganesh festival. He is currently absconding after the murder. The police visited the spot, investigating the matter, and sent the body to the district hospital’s mortuary.

This incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Arehalli police station.
