History-sheeter murdered by gang of six in Bandepalya, police launch search for accused

BENGALURU: A history-sheeter was hacked to death near Bandepalya police station in Bengaluru on Wednesday night. The incident occurred on the main road and the accused allegedly targetted Mohammad Shabbir (28) due to previous enmity.

The accused, numbering around six, arrived in an autorickshaw and chased Shabbir, attacking him at the intersection of Mangamma Palya and Bandepalya main roads. Shabbir was hacked to death with machetes, while five others, including Mansoor, were injured in the attack.

The police have seized CCTV footage and registered a case. The accused are Noor, Nadeem, Salman, Ali, Ismail, and Siddiqui. The police believe the attack was premeditated, with the gang specifically targetting Shabbir.

According to eyewitnesses, the accused had arrived in an autorickshaw around 10.30 pm and attacked Shabbir and his friends, throwing chilli powder in their eyes. The accused then hacked Shabbir to death and injured others who tried to intervene.

The police are investigating the motive behind the attack and believe it was due to old enmity. The accused are still at large, and the police are searching for them.
