Hindu youth stabbed for not lending phone

SHIVAMOGGA: A Hindu man was stabbed by several men from the Muslim community over a trivial reason at Hanumanta Nagar in Bhadravati. The victim is Nandakumar (32).

A group of youths from the Muslim community asked Nandakumar to give them his mobile phone to make a call. When he refused, the youths assaulted him. Nandakumar then filed a complaint at the police station about assault.

The group attacked him with a knife and stabbed him in the back when he was returning from the police station. Nandakumar is now undergoing treatment at the Bhadravati government hospital.

On hearing about the attack by Muslim youths, Hindu activists gathered in front of the hospital overnight. They demanded that the accused be identified that strict action is taken against them.

Additional SP Anil Kumar visited the Bhoomareddy Hospital and collected information from the victim. The CCTV footage from the spot is being scrutinized to identify the attackers.
