CHIKKABALLAPUR: In a case of moral policing, a Hindu man and a Muslim girl who were travelling on a two-wheeler were accosted by a few men and threatened, at Doddaballapur a few days ago. The two were also assaulted by the group. A video of the incident has since gone viral.
As per the FIR filed with the Doddaballapur police, the couple were going along Car Street (Terina beedi) in Doddaballapur when they were stopped by Huzair, Akbar and a few others when they were attacked. They even took away the key of the two-wheeler. The incident occurred around 1.30 pm on September 25.
The group questioned the duo if they intended to get married. The men even threatened the girl to give the contact number of her family. But the girl stood her ground and even questioned the men about their actions. In the video, one of the men can be seen slapping the girl and when her companion questioned the attacker, he shoved the man too.
Akbar and Huzair were arrested and sent to judicial custody. While Huzair managed to get bail, Akbar is still in jail.
