Hindu group pushes for halal-free Deepavali, launches campaign

BENGALURU: The Hindu Janajagruthi Samiti is conducting a campaign in several districts of Karnataka for a ‘halal-free’ Deepavali. The campaign aims to promote the use of indigenous products and protect Hindu culture.

The activists have been visiting and requesting shopkeepers, supermarket owners, wholesalers and stockists to avoid selling products with halal certification during Deepavali. They are also raising awareness about the importance of using indigenous products.

The Samiti members are also encouraging people to join the campaign and educating people about the significance of using indigenous products and preserving Hindu culture.
