KALABURAGI: A group of Hindu activists were attacked and pelted with stones by a mob of Muslim men for rescuing six cows which were allegedly being taken illegally to a slaughter house, at Quadri Chowk here on Friday night.
On getting information that cows were being illegally transported ahead of Bakrid, activists of the Sri Rama Sene intercepted the vehicle near Quadri Chowk. Following this, a mob of about 40 Muslim men arrived there and assaulted the Hindu activists and pelted stones at them.
Sri Rama Sene activists Ramesh Desai and Mahadev sustained injuries in the incident and were treated at a hospital. The Chowk police have registered a case.
