RAMANAGARA: A highway robber, posing as a policeman, robbed a motorist of gold, cash and other valuables after attacking him on Friday night. The incident occurred near Doddamannugudde in Ramanagara taluk on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway.
The motorist Nagesh H C was driving his car from Bengaluru towards Channapatna on the service road when the unidentified highway robber stopped him asked to verify the vehicle documents. When Nagesh got off the vehicle, the robber attacked him and took away a gold chain weighing 10 gm, Rs 14,000 in cash and a mobile phone.
The victim Nagesh has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment of injuries. The Ramanagara Rural police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the robber.
