DAVANAGERE: A labourer working on the higway was killed after he was run over by a lorry on National Highway-48 near Hebbal village in Davanagere taluk on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Eshwar Singh (29), hailing from Rajasthan. Eshwar was cutting grass on the median near Naraganahalli Cross when he was knocked down by a speeding lorry.
The Davanagere Rural police have arrested the lorry driver and seized the vehicle. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
