BENGALURU: The High Court has quashed the arrest of Savitha, an accused in a gold scam case in Basaveshwara Nagar police station limits. Savitha had filed a petition challenging her arrest and the case registered against her.
The police had issued a notice to Savitha in connection with the case and arrested her within six hours of issuing the notice. The High Court ruled that the arrest was in violation of the law and quashed her arrest.
The court observed that the police had not followed the due process of law while arresting Savitha and therefore, her arrest was liable to be quashed. With this order, Savitha’s arrest has been set aside by the High Court.
