BENGALURU: The Karnataka High Court on Monday rejected the bail plea of BJP Channagiri MLA Madal Virupakshappa and he is likely to be arrested any moment.

During the hearing of the bail plea on Monday, the Lokayukta lawyer raised strong objection to the bail application of the BJP MLA who is accused No. 1 in a case related to corruption in the tender process at Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd (KSDL). After conclusion of arguments, the single-judge bench dismissed the bail application. On March 7, the High Court had granted him interim bail.

Virupakshappa, who went missing after his son Prashanth Madal was caught red-handed with money, had returned home after getting bail.
