High Court dismisses habeas corpus petition in history-sheeter Biklu Shiva murder case

BENGALURU: The High Court of Karnataka has dismissed a habeas corpus petition filed by the wife of Kiran, an accused in the murder case of history-sheeter Shivaprakash alias Biklu Shiva, alleging that her husband was illegally detained by the police.

Kiran’s wife, Anthony Shirlinya, had filed the petition in the High Court, claiming that her husband was taken away by the police on July 16 and she was not informed about his whereabouts.

After considering the government’s submission, a division bench led by Justice Anu Sivaraman dismissed the habeas corpus petition.
