RAMANAGARA: A herd of four elephants, including a young one, were spotted early on Wednesday in the Bramnipura lake in the Chikkammanagudde state forest in Channapatna taluk, causing anxiety among the villagers.
The herdis believed to have come to the lake from the Kabbalu forest in Kanakapura. Assistant Conservator of Forests Puttamma and other staff reached the lake on receiving information.
The Forest Department personnel said they will attempt to drive the herd to the Cauvery wildlife sanctuary on Wednesday night.
