KARWAR: Heaps of bones and animal waste, believed to be of cattle, have been found atop a hilly area close to Magdoom Colony in Bhatkal. After Public TV aired a report on the find, senior police officers and municipal officials visited the spot. The Forest department has also registered a case at the Bhatkal town police station.

However, on Saturday, a resident of Magdoom Colony, Tahir Mastan, lodged a complaint with the Bhatkal town police alleging that some individuals had posted fake news on social media with the intention of creating communal tensions.

Tahir Mastan contended that around 6 pm on September 10, Srinivas Bhatkal, Srikanth Bhatkal and four others visited the hilly area near Magdoom Colony along with a group and later shared edited photos on social media to create tensions. This has been done intentionally to disturb peace, he alleged and sought appropriate action.
