RAICHUR: The headmaster of a government lower primary school at Ambadevi Nagar in Gonal village of Maski taluk turned up fully drunk and was spotted lying in front of the midday meal kitchen on the school premises on Thursday.
Students of the school, pointing to the sloshed headmaster Ningappa, said there was no one to conduct classes. Ningappa regularly turns up heavily drunk and misbehaves with the midday meal cook, villagers alleged.
They said that despite being reprimaned by parents and other villagers, Ningappa continues with his irresponsible behaviour. The school earlier had about 80 students, but the strength has dropped to 30 now, they said.
On Thursday, the guest teacher Basavaraj too did not turn up and no classes were conducted. The Education Department should take strict action against the headmaster, the villagers demanded.
