RAICHUR: The headmaster of a government school was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a Class 10 student, on Thursday. The accused has been identified as VK Angadi.
The student alleged that the headmaster was sexually harassing her by calling and texting her on her mobile every day. The student exposed his harassment by recording the calls and WhatsApp messages. He threatened and blackmailed her in the name of exam results.
The student filed a complaint against the headmaster at the women’s police station and also with the Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Forum. When the police arrived to arrest the headmaster on Thursday, the girl’s parents and others started thrashing him and expressed their outrage.
A case has been registered at the Raichur women’s police station. The police are questioning him and further investigation is under way.
