Head constable arrested over land dispute in Nelamangala

BENGALURU: A police head constable was arrested after a complaint was filed at the Nelamangala Rural police station alleging that he cheated a woman, Lakshmamma, and acquired her land.

Girijesh, who was already facing another complaint, was arrested by the Nelamangala town police. Earlier, a complaint was filed against him by Thampi Matthew at the Dobbspet police station, but he had obtained bail.

The latest complaint alleges that Girijesh acquired 20 guntas of land from Lakshmamma, promising to help her get compensation from KIADB, which was acquiring land. He had registered 11 guntas of land in his name on Survey no. 109/3 and 9 guntas on Survey no. 109/11.

The police have registered a case and arrested Girijesh.
