Head constable accused of kicking woman constable at Upparpet police station

BENGALURU: Head constable B G Govindaraju, attached to the Upparapet police station, allegedly assaulted woman constable Renuka with his shoe and used abusive language, according to the FIR.

The incident reportedly occurred on the night of June 10, when constable Renuka, who was on duty in the Computer Digital section, was asked by ASI Thimmegowda to take care of two girls who had run away from home and provide them with food. When Renuka took the girls to the investigation officer’s room to feed them, Govindaraju allegedly made derogatory remarks about the girls. When Renuka questioned him, Govindaraju kicked her and used abusive language.
