BENGALURU: The Kalaburagi bench of the Karnataka High Court on Friday adjourned the hearing to 2:30 pm on October 30 further hearing on the RSS plea to take out a route march in Chittapur on November 2.
The tussle between RSS and the government in Karnataka is intensifying, with the Chittapur RSS route march controversy taking a new turn daily. The RSS is gearing up for the route marchon November 2 as per the High Court’s directive.
The application for permission for the procession was heard by the Kalaburagi bench of the High Court on Friday with the hearing adjourned to the last date of this month. The RSS’s lawyer, Arun Shyam, argued the case before Justice Kamal.
Advocate General Shashikiran Shetty submitted a report from the SP stating that the route march would cause problems in Chittapur city, as regards traffic congestion, law and order, and public inconvenience citing the presence of hospitals, schools and shops in the area.
The RSS had planned to carry out route march on October 19, but the Chittapur tahsildar, Nagaiah Hiremath, denied permission, citing law and order concerns and incomplete information in the application. Interestingly, five other organisations have also applied for permission to hold events on November 2, the same day the RSS had requested.
