Hassan bizman, close associate of H D Revanna, murdered over alleged financial dispute

HASSAN: A businessman from Hassan was brutally hacked to death by four to five miscreants with machetes in broad daylight near Nagatavalli on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Krishna Gowda (55).

It is suspected that Krishna Gowda was murdered over financial issues and personal enmity. Southern Range DIGP Boralingaiah and District Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar visited the spot.

 

The killing of Krishna Gowda, who was close to former minister H D Revanna, has created anxiety among the people. Krishna Gowda was a contractor hailing from Hassan and was also into granite business. He had a granite factory near Nagatavalli on the outskirts of Hassan and a big showroom by name Sri Rama Marbles at Dairy Circle.

Krishna Gowda, also a JDS leader, was a close associate of former minister H D Revanna. He contested the municipal elections from JD(S), but lost the poll. The police said that Gowda was never had disputes with anyone. He used to go to his granite factory near Nagatavalli every day.

On Wednesday afternoon, Gowda went to the granite factory in his Toyota Innova car (KA-13N-9878). At this time, four to five miscreants who came in another car killed Gowda with machetes as he was getting out of his vehicle and fled. Local MLA H P Swaroop visited the spot after receiving information.

H D Revanna demanded the police to immediately arrest the accused and warned them that such incidents should not be repeated. The SP assured that the accused would be arrested soon.

Hariram Shankar informed that, four teams have been formed to arrest the accused. It is learnt that the attackers murdered Krishna Gowda over financial issues and personal rivalry. A case has been registered at Hassan Rural police station and the police are on the lookout for the accused.
