BALLARI: Two of the ten accused in the murder case of Hindu activist Harsha, who are lodged in the Ballari central jail, have been regularly creating a ruckus in the prison demanding special privileges. The undertrials are Jeelan and Syed Nihal.
The two accused have been moved around different jails including Bengaluru, Kalaburagi and Dharwad before being shifted to the Ballari jail about a month ago. However, they have been creating a ruckus almost every day.
The duo have managed to get hold of old videos of incident which occurred within the jail and are allegedly threatening jail staff that they will post it on social media. They have also been demanding special facilities like separate cells and no patting down when moving to different halls or to the jailer’s chamber.
The duo has also been regularly picking arguments with the jail staff over trivial issues and abusing them. After complaints of such behaviour in other jails, they were shunted to different locations.
