Vehicles can be seen parked haphazardly in roads around Metro stations and people don’t even seem to care about the No Parking signs. Vehicles even occupy footpaths, leaving no space of pedestrians and hindering traffic flow near stations.

Vehicles, especially two-wheelers, are parked in front of houses, parks, business establishments, leaving little space for movement of vehicles and pedestrians. Near some Metro stations, the roads around it are already narrow and are occupied by vehicles.

Special Commissioner for Traffic M A Saleem said, “Vehicles should be parked only in designated areas. If there is a No Parking sign, vehicles cannot be parked there. On arterial roads, parking is not allowed. If people park there, they will have to face action. The BMRCL will have to make arrangements for parking at the stations. In the central business district, there is no provision for parking on major roads”.
