CHITRADURGA: The body of an infant, probably bitten by stray dogs, was found on the premises of a private school near Challakere Gate here on Wednesday evening. Residents of the city expressed shock after photos of the half-eaten body went viral on social media.

It is suspected that the body may have been dragged by stray dogs from a hospital nearby.

The body of the infant was found on the premises of the Venkateshwara School and it is suspected that it may have been dragged by stray dogs from the Basaveshwara Medical College and Hospital nearby. Some residents felt that the infant may have died in the hospital and may not have been cremated properly.

The incident occurred in the Extension police limits and investigation is under way.
