Group blocking bulk tickets for IPL matches, selling them in black market?

BENGALURU: Despite attempts to curb black marketing, it continues to thrive. A person has lodged a complaint alleging that a group is selling tickets in black for IPL matches after purchasing them in bulk. The man tagged screenshots of his conversation to the Bengaluru City Police on X.

The complainant, going by the name ‘Jokes’, alleged that the group claimed to have contacts with DNA Entertainment Network which is associated with organising matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. There is a huge demand for RCB matches, hence, cricket fans are buying tickets in black.

Jokes wrote on ‘Xpost that the IPL ticket scam came to light while buying tickets in the black market from one Vinodh. The group charged him a higher rate than the regular ticket price.

‘Jokes’ also shared a screenshot of the chats with Vinod- RCB match about black ticket deals. The group offered different ticket prices for different stands — P3 Rs 4.5k, A Rs 5k, C Rs 5.5k, D corp Rs 6.5k, N (hospitality stand ) – Rs 7k, P1 annexe (hopsital stand) Rs 8k and E executive is Rs 14k.

When Jokes if it wasn’t unethical to sell tickets in black market, someone in the group admitted to the scam said, “Bro, online tickets also something people buy in bulk and resell it. Scam, yes definitely happens, but I give hand to hand”.

After ‘Jokes’ posted about the black market dealings of tickets, the police responded asking him to give a written complaint to the local station.
