Group assaults two youths at petrol bunk near Mysuru Road Metro station

BENGALURU: A group of youths attacked two men at a petrol bunk near the Metro Station at Nayandahalli on Mysuru Road around 1 am on Monday. The victims were refuelling their car when a group of youths, who had come to the same petrol bunk on a bike, got into a  scuffle with them .

As the argument escalated, some youths pulled out the two people from the car who fell on the road after being assaulted. The police from the Byatarayanapura station arrived at the scene and rushed the injured to the hospital.

A case has been registered at the Byatarayanapura police station and the police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the attackers.

In a related development, a traffic police officer, Shantharam, and a Home Guard, Siddique, have been accused of assaulting a bike rider, Ishwar, at the Vijayanagar police station on March 14, and a case has been registered. Ishwar had paid a fine at the court and was later called to the station, where he was allegedly assaulted.

Deputy CP West Division, Anita Addannavar, directed a preliminary investigation and sought a detailed report on the allegation of assault on the biker and demanding a bribe.
