BENGALURU: A day after the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested five terror suspects in Bengaluru, they recovered four live hand grenades from the house of Tabrez in Kodigehalli.
Tabrez’s brother Hafeez told media persons, “The grenades were not live. The police came with the bag of four grenades and clicked photos of him with the bag. We had no explosives in the house. We have nothing to do with the grenade found in the house. There is no connection between Junaid and Tabrez. Junaid is deliberately dragging my brother into this. Tabrez was working in an aluminium fabrication unit and it is not possible that he will get involved in terror activities”.
Hafeez alleged, “A few years ago, Junaid took my brother to Mumbai and got him involved in the 2017 murder case of Noor Ahmed in RT Nagar. It was all about Junaid’s plan and my brother is innocent. There is no involvement of his in this case”.
Tabrez’s mother Fathima claimed none of the accused had visited their house earlier. “We didn’t have any sort of explosives in our house. I only know that the police have visited our house. Tabrez did not go anywhere, he used to stay at home after the case in 2017 and work with his brother. He used to go to the gym after work. We only got to know about this when the police came and arrested him. Someone has intentionally trapped him in the case”.
