BIDAR: A teacher who retired after 31 years of service at the government high school in Kollara village in the taluk was given a grand sendoff and felicitation by the villagers. The teacher was also taken in a procession in an open chariot.
The teacher Ananth Kulkarni and his wife were felicitated with shawls, mementos and garlands and then taken out in a procession with flower petals being showered on the couple. The villagers said it was their way of thanking the teacher for his service towards education of the children of the village.
