Govt plans to host ‘Bengaluru Habba’ on Vidhana Soudha steps in March

BENGALURU: With the Assembly elections drawing close, the incumbent BJP government has decided to conduct a ‘Bengaluru Habba’ in the third week of March. The BJP is aiming to bag more than 20 of the 28 Assembly segments in Bengaluru.

It is planned to hold the ‘Bengaluru Habba’ on the grand steps in front of the Vidhana Soudha and is being planned as an annual feature. A preliminary meeting is scheduled to be held on Tuesday by Revenue Minister R Ashoka with officials in this regard.

The government is also installing statues of Bengaluru founder Kempegowda and 12th century reformer Basavanna in front of the Vidhana Soudha. It is being planned to get Union Home Minister Amit Shah to inaugurate the statues on March 23 or 24.
