BENGALURU: Two days after shunting out warring IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil and IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri from their posts without any new posting, the government is contemplating further action against both.

On Wednesday, Legislative Council member A H Vishwanath had raised the issue of the catfight between the two women officers causing embarrassment to the government, during Zero Hour in the Council. He had demanded that both should be suspended and an inquiry conducted into the issue.

Responding to him, Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan had said that the government is planning to take strict action against them.

The government, which has already transferred them without giving them new postings, can suspend both and order an inquiry by a senior officer. Based on the findings, it can recommend to the Union government to take disciplinary action against them or to draft them into central services.

Meanwhile, Rohini Sindhuri’s brother-in-law Madhusudhan has started an online campaign, ‘We stand with Rohini Sindhuri’, stating that it is society’s gift to a woman who is standing up for the truth and justice.

In an audio clip, Roopa had alleged that Rohini Sindhuri had planned to get Madhusudhan inducted into the BJP by setting up the GNR Foundation. The Foundation organises job melas, public events, sporting and religious activities in Dasarahalli Assembly segment.
