Govt hostel students develop skin infection due to contaminated water in Hanur village

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Students of the Ambedkar residential school hostel at Ramapura in Hanur taluk have developed skin infection, suspectedly due to use of contaminated water. Some of the students have developed rashes all over their skin.

Following the incident, parents and Raitha Sangha activists laid siege to the school. When the water tanks were checked, moss growth was found in the water. The students had been bathing once in two days due to water shortage.

There are 24 students in the hostel of which 12 have developed skin infection. The parents took the headmistress and the hostel warden to task over the prevailing situation.
