Govt cracks whip, transfers Roopa, Rohini Sindhuri without new postings

BENGALURU: The Karnataka government on Tuesday transferred IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri and IPS officer D Roopa Moudgil after their nasty public spat over the last few days. Both the officers were moved out of their current postings without being assigned any new roles.

Basavarajendra H, who was Joint Secretary, Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, has been posted as Commissioner for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Bengaluru in place of Rohini Sindhuri Dasari, who has not been given any posting.

Similarly, Bharathi D, who was waiting for a posting, has been posted with immediate effect as Managing Director, Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. Bengaluru in place of Roopa D. She too has not been given any posting.

The government has also transferred a few other officers, including Roopa’s husband Munish Moudgil.

Moudgil, who was Commissioner, Survey, Settlement and Land Records, has been posted as Principal Secretary, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Administrative Reforms), in place of Dr Srivatsa Krishna.

C N Sreedhara, who was Additional Director, Department of Survey, Settlement and Land Records, Revenue Department, has been posted with immediate effect as Commissioner, Survey Settlement and Land Records, in place of Munish Moudgil.

Darshan H V, who was waiting for posting, has been posted as Commissioner, Tumkuru Municipal Corporation, in place of Yogananda, who has been transferred.
