BENGALURU: Amid the tussle between the Congress government in the state and Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, the latter is believed to have told Congress leaders that he has received petitions against two ministers and would order for necessary action, come what may.

It is said that the governor would initiate if he receives any more petitions too even if the ruling Congress hurls accusations at him. Any such action could put the government in an embarrassing situation.

The latest issue relates to grant of civic amenity (CA) sites from KIADB to two ministers, M B Patil and Priyank Kharge, and the governor has received petitions seeking sanction for their prosecution. The governor has sought complete details regarding the allocation of land and is expected to proceed further after receiving a reply from the government.

In March, 43 companies were allotted CA sites in violation of rules and without calling for auction. Of this, Siddartha Vihar Trust linked to Priyank Kharge was allotted 5 acres of land regarding which the governor has received two petitions. The other relates to allocations of land to minister M B Patil in violation of rules. The petitions have alleged that there has been financial wrongdoing to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore.
