The Gokak Falls in all its splendour.

BELAGAVI: With the monsoon active and heavy rains lashing the Western Ghats, all the rivers flowing through the district have witnessed water levels rising. With the inflow in the Ghataprabha increasing, the popular picnic spot, Gokak Falls, has also come alive.

The Gokak Falls, on the outskirts of Gokak town, is popularly known as the Niagara Fall of India. The water jumps 180 feet and offers a majestic view for visitors.

With the waterfall now in full glory, there are hordes of visitors who are going to the edge to click selfies. The Tourism Department staff are having a tough time keeping a watch on people, advising them not to risk their lives.
