Gokak Falls comes alive after water released from Hidkal dam

BELAGAVI: Despite the searing heat, the popular picnic spot, Gokak Falls, has come alive after water was released from the Hidlak dam across the Ghataprabha river in Hukkeri taluk. The waterfall is a big draw among tourists during the monsoon season.

Water was released from the dam to meet the drinking water requirement of towns along the river. Huge volumes of water are being released every day, bringing the Gokak Falls to life.

Tourists throng to enjoy the spectacular view as water drops 180 feet. Gokak Falls is popular as India’s Niagara Falls.
