BENGALURU: The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is taking various initiatives to control garbage. After dumping garbage in front of the houses of those who threw waste on the road, it is now taking action against those who burn garbage.
According to the GBA rules, if garbage is burned anywhere in the city, the culprits will be fined Rs 1 lakh and also face five years of imprisonment. The rules have been enforced by the Bangalore Solid Waste Management Authority and it has been decided to register criminal cases along with levying a fine against those burning garbage as it causes air pollution.

Waste is sent to processing units to generate electricity. The Solid Waste Management Department has urged people to be careful and not to burn garbage.
