BENGALURU: The Bengaluru Industry Association (BIA) has taken note of the growing concerns among industrialists regarding the poor condition of roads and garbage management in the city. In response, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has decided to undertake comprehensive development of 100 major roads in the city.
The GBA Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has instructed officials to identify bad roads, prioritise their development, and create a plan for their maintenance. This move comes after industrialists, including Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, expressed their frustration with the city’s infrastructure and sanitation issues.
The GBA Chief Commissioner has suggested that 100 important roads within the GBA limits be identified and action taken for comprehensive development.
He held a meeting with the officials related to tfootpaths,he development of roads, footpaths and cleanliness in the city and instructed them to identify 100 important roads for 10 zones, like 10 roads per zone in the five municipal corporation limits and formulate a plan for the comprehensive development of those roads.
The GBA aims to improve not only the roads, but also the pedestrian pathways and overall cleanliness in the city. Additionally, the Bengaluru garbage management body has decided to conduct a thorough cleaning of the outer ring roads and pedestrian pathways in coordination with the municipal corporations.
