BENGALURU: The Greater Bengaluru Authority’s (GBA) Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has instructed officials to complete the white-topping work on Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar within two months.

The work is currently under way from Navarang Signal to Orion Mall, with one side of the road open to traffic and the other side closed for construction.

The road is a major link, connecting to 23 districts and is crucial for traffic flow. The GBA Chief Commissioner visited the site on Tuesday and reviewed the progress, directing the authorities to expedite the work.

The GBA Commissioner set a deadline to complete the work by December, with a focus on minimising traffic disruption. However, there are concerns about meeting the deadline, given the current pace of work and challenges posed by weather conditions.

The Chief Minister had set a deadline for filling potholes, but there are doubts about meeting this target, with new potholes emerging across the city. The GBA has identified around 4,000 new potholes, and traffic police have flagged concerns about road safety.

Maheshwar Rao stated that efforts are being made to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe, despite the challenges. The authorities are working to ensure minimal disruption to traffic and commuters.
