GBA plans to asphalt 550 km of arterial and sub-arterial roads in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is planning to lay a single layer of asphalt on 550 km of arterial and sub-arterial roads in Bengaluru to fix the issue of potholes.

The GBA Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has prepared a proposal to submit to the government. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had instructed Additional Chief Secretary of the Urban Development Department, Tushar Giri Nath, and GBA Commissioner Maheshwar Rao to lay a single layer of asphalt during the foundation stone-laying ceremony for white-topping works in Gandhinagar Assembly constituency.

Now GBA Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao will submit a proposal to the government regarding laying a layer of asphalt on the roads of Bengaluru. The GBA aims to cover major roads in the city under the project.

Maheshwar Rao said that work will get started as soon as approved by the government. “The GBA is trying to fix roads in all the wards too. We are trying to address new complaints also as it has been raining since last week”, he said.
